If you use Baidu Netdisk while living or traveling overseas, slow upload and download speeds can be frustrating. Large files may take a long time to transfer, and the connection can become unstable, especially during peak hours. Fortunately, there are several ways to improve the experience.

Why Is Baidu Netdisk Slow Overseas?

The main reason is usually network distance. Baidu Netdisk servers are primarily located in China, so users connecting from North America, Europe, Australia, Southeast Asia, or other overseas regions may experience higher latency and less efficient international routing.

Local network congestion, ISP routing, Wi-Fi quality, and the size of the file being transferred can also affect performance. In some cases, the problem is not your internet speed itself, but the route between your location and the Baidu Netdisk servers.

How to Improve Baidu Netdisk Speed Overseas

First, check your local connection. If possible, use a wired connection or a stable 5 GHz Wi-Fi network and pause other applications that are consuming bandwidth.

You can also try changing the network route. A service such as SpeedX return acceleratorcan provide optimized routes between overseas users and services in China, which may help reduce latency and improve connection stability. This can be particularly useful when normal international routes are congested.

Another practical approach is to transfer files during off-peak hours. If your connection becomes noticeably faster late at night or early in the morning, network congestion may be contributing to the problem.

It is also worth keeping the Baidu Netdisk client updated and checking whether your account, client version, or specific file is subject to download restrictions.

A More Stable Approach for Overseas Users

For people who frequently use Chinese cloud storage from overseas, improving the network route can be more effective than simply upgrading the local broadband package. SpeedX 海外华人回国加速器 is one option worth considering when you need a more stable connection to Chinese internet services.
